Save the Date: 6th Grader Jumpstart!
Pacific Middle School is helping new students start strong with a special 6th Grade Jumpstart on August 25, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Olympic Interim Site, 615 South 200th Street, Des Moines.
This all-day event is designed to help incoming 6th graders feel confident and ready for their first year of middle school. Students will:
- Meet their advisory teacher and classmates
- Tour the school
- Participate in mentor-led lessons on middle school life
- Receive their Chromebook and planner
- Practice using StudentVUE and school technology
While students are in their sessions, families are invited to:
- Attend an info session on ParentVUE, ParentSquare and sports registration
- Complete a Family Questionnaire
- Meet key staff and learn ways to stay connected throughout the year
The Jumpstart program helps students and families build connections, learn important tools, and prepare for a smooth transition to middle school.
